WESTERN GULF - NASSAU BAY

WGC Athletics

Western Gulf - Nassau Bay was founded in 2022 as an independent college basketball program. The first program established was the women's basketball team which opened its first season of play in 2023-2024. Founded by seasoned coaching veternan Terry Gray, who now serves as WGC's Athletic Director and Head Women's Basketball Coach, has coached from the high school to Division 1 college levels. He got his collegiate basketball coaching start as an assistant as Sam Houston State (NCAA Division 1), later moving on to become Head Coach at Howard College (NJCAA Division 1) and Head Coach at NCAA Division 1 UTSA.

During the last two seasons our women’s basketball program primarily faced opponents in the highly competitive NJCAA Division 1, Region 14. These teams are amongst the top ranked competitors at this level in the nation. Because WGC is a truly independent college athletics program, we can choose to play opponents at any level and are not limited to playing against only two year colleges. We want to ensure we put a competitive product on the court and provide the best exposure opportunities for our players.

We offer our student athletes great flexibility in their academic options which means they can truly choose the best academic program to fit their needs while playing college athletics. Contact a coach to begin the recruiting process and to learn more about both the academic and athletic options.
